my passions.
music.
Music accompanies almost every aspect of my daily life. Car rides, studying, cooking, hanging out with friends, and biking to class are almost always done in the presence of music. My music taste started off heavily based on what I heard on the radio growing up. As I reached my junior and senior years of high school, I started to explore more obscure music genres. Today, after spending three years in college, my music taste has reached new weirds. A lot of my time is spent trying to find new artists that are doing things I've never heard before. To my recent surprise, there are some amazing Russian electronic artists out there. There is nothing I enjoy more than hearing a new, forward-thinking, obscure artist. At the same time, I have an everlasting love for pop music rooted in my childhood.

film.
Film has always been a part of my life. I remember watching Monster's Inc. in my living room with my sister over and over. In high school, after taking multiple classes on screenwriting and production, I became much more involved in creating short films & music videos myself. In the same way that my music taste has changed, the types of film's I enjoy have changed as well with age. Below there is one video I made my senior year of high school for a class on the holocaust and other genocides that have taken place throughout history. I am still inspired to make another video like this soon with the new technical skills I have gained since I made this video.
the outdoors.
Spending time outside and connecting with nature will never grow old. Hiking, camping, skiing, surfing, and swimming in nature all make me feel incredibly fulfilled. Spending family vacations growing up in Colorado helped me develop this passion, but it has only grown as I have moved through college. As you can probably tell from my photography page, the outdoors is also my favorite thing to take pictures of.
the environment.
If humanity wants to survive on Earth, we must change the course of our actions. Human pollutants, waste, and consumption have driven our planet to exhibit symptoms of a mass extinction. Due to my belief in the dire, urgent, need for climate action, I do not eat meat. I reuse any plastic I possibly can, try to buy low waste packaged goods, and drive my car as little as possible. I believe that humanity can solve the climate crisis, but not unless each and every person does their part. The world needs a billion imperfect people working towards a cleaner world instead of a million perfect people. The masses will create the needed chance.
